Purpose and Objective of the Position
This person is responsible to lead and assist assemblers, and other production personnel, on their shifts to perform their jobs and ensure that jobs are done on time to excellent quality standards and that all customers’ requirements are met.
Supervise staff to consistently meet and exceed corporate goals by providing training (including cross training) coaching and motivation to employees.
Be a safety role model. Engage with employees and management to create and promote a safe work environment. Oversee and assist the day-to-day safety activities of manufacturing personnel.
Assist in developing and implementing production KPIs. Provide feedback weekly to the team on performance to KPIs. Provide praise and support when goals are met. Assist in investigating and providing monthly root cause analysis when KPIs are not met. Implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with Production Manager workloads for all plant personnel on their shift based on FIFO boards and weekly production report.
Advise Production Manager of new needs and work with Engineers on the design and implementation of new fixtures, assembly methods as required.
Maintain clean and organized assembly areas (promote 5S activities).
Ensures that customers’ requirements are met on every job.
Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
High School Degree.
Degree or training in electrical engineering or engineering technology a plus.
Reading of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings a plus.
2 - 5 years: Proven Ability to motivate others to succeed.
2 - 5 years: Proven ability to develop the skills and talents of others in a way that increases their self-esteem and their ability to contribute to the department.
2 - 5 years: Proven experience having regular contact and communications with Production Manager, other lead-persons and Engineers to plan, organize or evaluate resources necessary in the fulfillment of job duties.
