board

Board stock, also called Carton Board or folding carton, can be processed thru sheet-fed, web, or digital presses. Many times, the substrate is printed and coated with either water-based or UV inks and/or UV coatings or water-based coatings. Today UV coatings are available which offer a wide range of coating types. Dramatically altering the end-user experience, UV coating types include the following: gloss, semi-gloss, satin, matte, texture, reticulating, raised, pearlescent, glitter, glow-in-the-dark, thermochromatic, metallic, gritty, soft touch and scratch off. Coating types can also provide a wide range of performance characteristics including foil stampable, glueable, writeable, dry erase, high rub, scuff resistant, non-skid, BP free, low odor, low extractable and low migration. Applied in a variety of coating methods, UV and water-based coatings can be applied in both flood and spot coats.
